We exist to be a part of God’s people in our community, who are called under the direction of the Holy Spirit, to extend the love and mercy of God which we have received, to those who are in need.
“ We exist to be a part of God’s people in our community….”
We have good news that we are encouraged to share. We would like to do this in a non-invasive way by building up relationships and through people noticing the difference in us through the hope we have in Jesus. We will also do this in a structured manner through our methods of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ from Armstrong Hall.
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light” Luke 8:16
“….who are called…”
God is placing a call upon the lives of His people and He desires us to respond to it.
“But you are a chosen people, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light” 1 Peter 2:9
“….under the direction of the Holy Spirit…”
We are to be people who allow God through His Holy Spirit, to be at work in us and through our lives. This needs to overflow into every aspect of our lives – family, leisure time, relationships, work etc.
“…continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good pleasure” Philippians 2:12-13
“….to extend the love and mercy of God”
God loved so much that He gave. We are called to reach out to a broken world that needs to receive all that God is offering to it in Jesus.
“When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” Matthew 9:36
“…which we have received..”
We are to comfort those in need with the comfort which we ourselves have received from God. Therefore, we are committed to a loving, intimate, personal relationship with Jesus.
We are to be people who are committed to taking the good news of Jesus to those around us in any way which is relevant and contemporary to our generation.
“…you were separated from Christ,………without hope and without God in the world” Ephesians 2:12
