During Lent this year, we have all faced different challenges and temptations. In some small way having to decide to take just enough food rather than hoard, or to not visit or hug loved ones for fear of spreading Coronavirus is a reminder of Jesus’ time in the Desert.
It’s been particularly hard not to be able to meet as a church, or to see some of the more elderly or at risk members of our church family, so it was superb to be able to take part in the first Upper Coquetdale Churches Together Virtual Service for Easter Day.
Whilst Armstrong Hall have been meeting via Zoom for a few weeks now, this was an epic undertaking drawing together virtual contributions from the many Anglican, Catholic and United Reformed churches across Coquetdale and beyond. Made possible through the mediums of Zoom and YouTube our congregation swelled to around 150-200.
It goes to show that in adversity we find the best of people’s gifts that God has given us to serve one another!
Christ has risen. He has risen indeed! Alleluia, Alleluia!
